Abhinav Satpathi- Co-Founder Coshal
I was born in Odisha and raised in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Growing up there taught me to value simple things: honest work, grounded people, strong relationships, and the idea that progress should include others too.

I later completed my postgraduate studies at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore. While my formal education was in technology, I always knew I wanted to build something in the real world, something you could see, touch, use, and feel proud of.
I have always been drawn to people who work quietly and well. The kind of people who may never speak on panels or build personal brands, but have spent years mastering their craft. That respect for skill and consistency is a big part of who I am.
I’m naturally curious. I enjoy visiting workshops, asking questions, understanding how things are made, why systems work, and where they break. I can spend hours discussing product ideas, market gaps, packaging details, supply chains, or simply listening to an artisan explain a technique they’ve practiced for decades.
Coshal was built from that curiosity and respect.
What started with a few artisan families gradually became a larger journey focused on Bastar Dhokra and wrought iron craft, creating design-led handcrafted products for modern customers.
I don’t see craft as something to be admired from a distance. I see it as something that can compete, grow, and belong in contemporary homes, offices, and gifting culture when built the right way.
As a person, I value ambition without arrogance, growth without losing your roots, and business that creates real value. I like clear thinking, honest conversations, people with depth, and ideas that solve practical problems.
I also enjoy building things from scratch, whether it is a brand, a product line, a process, or a new direction for a traditional sector. There is something deeply satisfying about turning possibility into reality.
I’ve also had the opportunity to be part of ecosystems like Atal Incubation Center (AIC-36INC), School for Social Entrepreneurs India (SSE India), and the WHY Club by Next Bharat Ventures, which gave me valuable exposure to founders and builders creating meaningful businesses.

At the end of the day, I’m someone who believes good work still matters. That trust should be earned. That quality should speak. And that even in a noisy world, substance wins in the long run.
Coshal is one part of that belief.
